To prioritize a Complainant's agency and autonomy, 大学 distinguishes a 报告 from a 正式投诉.
A 报告 is any information the 第九条 and Gender Equity Office receives about an incident(s) involving discrimination or harassment, including sexual harassment, sexual misconduct, sexual exploitation, dating and domestic violence, stalking, and retaliation. 在回应 to a 报告, the 第九条 and Gender Equity Office will send a letter to the Complainant with information about available supportive 措施, rights and options, and an offer 以满足. A 报告 does not automatically trigger an investigation, or notice to the Respondent that the 报告 was received.
A 正式投诉 is an official request to initiate an investigation that is signed by either the Complainant or the 第九条 and Gender Equity Officer. 的 正式投诉 is what triggers the formal or 非正式解决程序.

No; absent extenuating circumstances, a 报告 does not automatically initiate a Title 第九调查. A 报告 provides a Complainant with an opportunity to: 1) receive supportive 措施; 2) learn about internal and external resolution options; and 3) inform the 第九条 and Gender Equity Officer of the incident(s).

No; absent extenuating circumstances, 大学 will not automatically notify the Respondent of the 报告.

- What is the difference between a formal and 非正式的决议?

If the Respondent is found responsible for violating university policy following a formal 解决过程, the Respondent will face disciplinary sanction(s). 的 university will consider a wide-range of factors in determining an appropriate sanction for the Respondent, including input from the Complainant. 大学也可以 provide a Complainant with 补救措施, if appropriate, following a determination of 责任.
